This Privacy Policy explains the policies of ProfitPOD on the collection and use of the information we collect when you access profitpod.app or install our app from the Shopify App Store (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes your privacy rights and how you are protected under privacy laws.
By using our Service, you are consenting to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Please do not access or use our Service if you do not consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined in this Privacy Policy.
ProfitPOD is authorized to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Where a change is material, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know.
Collection and Use of Your Personal Information
Information We Collect
ProfitPOD collects the following information:
- Store name and store domain
- Your display name
- Email address, if you provide one
- Subscription status, as reported to us by Shopify
- Sales and cost data from the platforms you connect
- Access keys for the platforms you connect
- Usage data
Usage Data includes the following:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address of computers accessing the Service
- Web page requests
- Browser used to access the Service
- Operating system used to access the Service
- Time and date of access
What we do not collect. ProfitPOD only needs the numbers. We read order totals, dates, payment methods and the products on each order. We do not collect your customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, delivery addresses or card details. We never receive or store your payment details: your subscription is billed by Shopify and appears on your regular Shopify invoice.
How We Collect Information
ProfitPOD collects and receives information from you in the following manner:
- When you install our app from the Shopify App Store. Installing the app creates your account and is how you sign in, so there is no separate password.
- When you connect a platform and grant us permission to read from it.
- When you enter expenses, costs and settings in the app.
- When you interact with our Service.
Your information is stored for as long as your account is active. When you disconnect a platform we stop reading from it and delete the stored key for that connection. If you connect a Shopify store, we also honour the data access and deletion requests Shopify passes on, so you and your customers can ask for data through Shopify itself. Information which does not identify you personally may be stored indefinitely.
How We Use Your Information
ProfitPOD may use your information for the following purposes:
- Providing and maintaining our Service, and calculating your profit and reports.
- Managing your account and keeping it secure.
- Setting up, checking and fixing your integrations, including the first data import for integrations marked beta.
- For the performance of a contract, including managing your subscription.
- To contact you about your account, security, or material changes to the Service.
- Dispute resolution and protecting the Service, in the event of a legal dispute.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your store, order or advertising data for advertising, for building marketing profiles, or for anything other than providing the Service to you.
How We Share Your Information
ProfitPOD will share your information, when applicable, in the following situations:
- With your consent. We will share your information for any purpose with your explicit consent.
- With the providers listed below, only as needed to run the Service.
- Where required to comply with applicable laws, regulations or court orders, or to enforce agreements you make with us.
We do not share your information with affiliates, advertising networks or data brokers.
Third-party Sharing
Any third party we share your information with must disclose the purpose for which they intend to use it, and must not further collect, sell or use your personal information except as necessary to perform that purpose. We rely on:

ProfitPOD and these providers may store and process your information in countries other than the one you live in, including Canada and the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Your Connected Platforms
When you connect a platform such as Shopify, Gelato, Printify, Printful or an advertising account, we read data from it on your behalf using only the permissions you grant. Your use of those platforms stays governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
When our team sees your connection keys. We may use a stored key to set up or fix one of your integrations, for example starting your first data import or working out why a connection has stopped, and otherwise only if you ask us to. Some integrations are marked beta in the app, which means we start and check that first import by hand before the figures reach your reports; you will see this before you connect. We only use these keys to read the data your own reports need. We never change anything in your connected accounts, and you can cut off access at any time by disconnecting the integration.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. ProfitPOD and its support provider use:
- Strictly necessary cookies. These allow core functionality such as keeping you signed in and running your account. The Service cannot be used properly without them, so they are set without needing your permission.
- Support-chat storage. Crisp may use cookies or local storage to operate the chat widget, maintain your support conversation and remember the chat session when you return. Do not enter sensitive store credentials, payment information or customer personal data into support chat.
We do not use targeting, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Security
Your information's security is important to us. Your data is encrypted while it travels to us, the keys for your connected platforms are encrypted before they are stored, and your information is only ever available to your own account. However, because no system can be guaranteed completely secure, you access our Service at your own risk.
ProfitPOD is not responsible for the performance of websites operated by third parties or your interactions with them. When you leave this website, we recommend you review the privacy practices of other websites you interact with.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, or to request deletion of your account and its data, email us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
ProfitPOD is a business tool and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
